Busy day for the boys from Phil The Cracks. There are 15 x 3 storey units that need to be separated with firewalls. 2 x 13ml fyrcheck plasterboard layers need to be installed on both sides of every dividing wall between each unit. Massive undertaking but as you can see the team is up to the task. The blue seam at the top/sides and bottom is a special Fire retardant so no smoke or flame can penetrate through the firewall thus providing the necessary required time for people to evacuate and the fire brigade to respond. #hardwork #plastering #Tasmanian

New Rondo Suspended ceiling installed at Mangana in the Fingal Valley. The Top Cross support bars are installed at 1200 centres and the 450ml furring channels are at 450 centres. The 450 centres for the furring channels are because the plasterboard sheet that will be going on this framing is 10ml thick and in being so the maximum distance allowed by Australian Standards is 450ml. If however you were using 13ml plasterboard the furring channels(battens) can be spaced at 600ml centres and still comply with necessary safety standards.
