Plasterboard Cutting and Fixing

Plasterboard can be cut by scoring the face linerboard with a knife and snapping the plasterboard back away from the scored face.
Always score the front (non-printed) face first. The back linerboard can then be cut from the back towards the front. Impact Board has fibreglass mesh behind the back face paper, so this face must also be cut before snapping.
Alternatively a saw may be used from the front face.
Cut edges are to be smoothed as required to permit neat joints. A metal T-square will assist in creating a clean, straight cut.

Snug Primary Auditorium Entrance Plastering Complete.

The last 4 days the team and I have been busily plastering, sheeting and troweling the entrance and toilet amenities block on the new Hobart Snug Primary School Auditorium. We will sand these areas tomorrow so that the painter and vinyl layers can finish the spaces totally. The next task is the 9m high wall that needs finishing in which all the highest safety precautions will be engaged.

Plastering Snug Primary School Auditorium

The boys from Phil The Cracks are at it again. Huge Auditorium getting plastered at the Snug Primary School. These photos taken high up in a scissor lift as we are finishing off the last of the plasterboard sheeting before we trowel up the joins, sand them all and hand it over to the builders from Maveric Constructions. Great work lads. #statewideplasterers #plaster #plastering #tasmanianplastering #philthecracks

Atrium Stairwell Plastering. Launceston Health Hub Complex.

This area of the build was a little tricky to finish. Firstly a scaffold was erected so we could build, sheet, trowel and sand the ceiling. Then it was painted and lights fitted off. Once this was done the scaffold was dismantled so we could then frame the rest of the walls and finish this space off totally. Including the massive glazed frames surrounding the stairs.

This is the access from the Lvl 1 Health Hub to Lvl 2 Early Learning Centre, or alternatively you can use the elevator.
